What really stops us from trying new things?
Is it the fear of failure? The worry that others might not like what we do? Or is it something else?
What are the dynamics that bring us to this paradoxical state—where we so deeply desire to act, yet hesitate just as much?
As we swing between two poles, back and forth, the longing we feel for the new—for discovering it, and in doing so, discovering new aspects of ourselves—is like the thirst of someone lost in a desert yearning for water… Isn’t that very longing itself proof of the unique value of choosing the new?
While living within the expectations society has dressed us in—and the accessories we’ve learned to match with them:
you must be successful,
there’s no room for mistakes,
if you do it, do it perfectly,
everything must be flawless…
our true need is actually to slowly undress from all these layers and return to that childlike soul, to the essence. Alongside the experience and wisdom that adulthood brings, to allow the pure creative force to express itself freely and “without buts.” And while doing so, to first notice and free ourselves from our own expectations and judgments.
That’s what life truly is—made up of small choices and steps filled with the childlike excitement and curiosity of creativity. Each step may seem small, yet like a domino effect, it fills every moment with life energy and becomes a bridge to miracles.
And here lies one of life’s secret keys: to act with the spirit of a child. To open a new space of expression for yourself freely, without worrying about getting dirty, and to enjoy the moment for what it is, without expectation of the outcome.
Haven’t we all longed for that?
